Full-Time MLT/ MT

Southwest Healthcare Services has an opportunity for a dependable Medical Lab Technologist to join our laboratory team. We are looking for a full-time tech to work flexible day shifts in our Critical Access Hospital, and Rural Health Clinic with rotating call on evenings and weekends.

Job Description:

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing.  Works independently to obtain accurate, timely patient results.  This position also requires effective communication and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

▪ Phlebotomy and specimen collection                    

▪ Ability to use laboratory computer systems                                                                                                                                                                                                            

▪ Quality control and documentation                                                                                       

▪ Maintenance and calibrations of all analyzers

▪ Accurate, timely patient results 

▪ Proficiency testing

▪ DOT/non-DOT drug collections and breath alcohol testing

▪ Participates in quality improvement and departmental goal projects

▪ Participates in accrediting agency surveys                                                                  

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or nationally recognized certification for Medical Technology (ASCP, HEW, ABOR or other accredited agency). Must also currently hold or be eligible for North Dakota licensure as MT or MLT.  Must obtain and maintain current DOT and non-DOT drug collection and breath alcohol testing certifications.
